Ok me and my brother have been changing the image files to give our toons more of a demonic look, considering we are the original founders of HELLSPAWN and reinniated the guild we thought it was fitting. Only it changes all of the toons in the game to have the same look. Now my idea is can we develope looks for each guild, thus making HELLSPAWNS more demonic and making HolierThanTho More angelic ect. Of course the guild members would have to be willing to do their own look before it could be sourced. But would sourcing be that difficult to do? and if so i would be willing to help. I know some C++ visual basics. i know its not scripting and sourcing but i am a quick study. If i was pointed in the right direction for some good reads on the subject I would catch on rather quickly and be more than willing to help to get this accomplished

@jmodine: it is possible, but you'd get Second Life's lack of artistic cohesion. all those looks will be in a different style, since there's no way the artists in every single guild with a custom look can keep to the same style.
aside from that, you can't filter out "teh naughties"* from imagery, so you'd either need to label the whole game 18+ (might come back to bite us in the arse later) or manually check every single upload.

if we'd have enough people to do the work required for this, i'd suggest giving guilds the ability to set some slight alterations to any characters in their guild. for example: any playable character model has a "demonic" look that can be faded in and out using a slider (using a neat shader and some morph targets to interpolate between a number of these options) and a guild can make any of their members look 15% more demonic.. combine this with other similar options and you've got a decent customization scheme too. or at least, something close. it'd simply tie into existing customization options.


* worst example: goatse. slightly better: any kind of porn or other stuff that parents don't want their children to see.

I haven't had a chance to check out every board related to Blade Mistress, but since I made this suggestion back in 2003, I figure I'm safe...

Here's my (dangerous?) idea...

Make almost ALL monsters in the game available in smaller size as pets.


Kill a giant uber-Spider, get a spider egg pouch. Hatch the pouch and get three or four tiny spiders. (A little larger than you foot.) They'd attack enemies, etc. as with Drakes, but they'd behave differently in the fact that, though weaker, they can get in more attacks. (due to their number.)

Not everything would have to do with hatching, however, as a small Ghost could possibly randomly "haunt" players, thereby also attacking with the player. Sort of a "Hot Potato" pet.

Grow a Killer Plant from a seed... construct a knee-height Golem from totems... etc.

This could even break across "class" lines. Only Craftswomen can make a Golem, for example.


... And of course, I'd definitely like to see the ability to turn Drakes "undead" or "spirit" once they die...

Its a good idea, and one that ill let the community decide once we have released the game after all alpha/beta testing is complete. And there is most definatly going to be some new things, including that of undead drakes :)

I am also planning to discuss with my team idea's for the guild tower (furniture, special's,and that sort of thing.). For example, if you get an event item as loot, its going to be able to be placed inside your guild tower and anybody whom visits your guild tower will be able to physically see and maybe even interact with it.

I dont know if its a good idea but um... The map is kinda big, it would be awsome to have some mounts or speed potions or something... Like wings and stuff.
